CRUSH original soundtrack out now
I wrote this score during a period in my life when I experienced profound loss mixed with deep joy and I think it shows. The work itself helped me through that difficult time, so it’s rewarding to announce that my complete orchestral score for FilmFour/Pipedream Pictures romantic comedy drama CRUSH (2001) is released for the first time on all digital streaming platforms via Bucks Records.

Performed by the Chamber Orchestra of London, conducted by Nic Raine it features Nigel Hitchcock on saxophone.
‘This funny and touching story centres on Kate (Andie Macdowell), a respectable and successful forty-year-old headmistress in a charming English village who gets together with her single friends, doctor Mollie (Anna Chancellor), and police detective Janine (Imelda Staunton), every Monday night to drink gin, eat chocolate and decide who is the Saddest of the Week. When Kate begins an affair with Jed (Kenny Doughty), the desirable 25-year old former pupil now crematorium organist, her friends conspire to thwart their new relationship with increasingly desperate results …’
It’s a score both deeply romantic and mischievous, and Elgar’s Nimrod lends an elegiac quality to in some key moments.
Hope you enjoy it.
