Peter Bowker’s wry contemporary imagining of the Scottish play set in the cut-throat world of the celebrity restaurateur. The main theme, essentially Lady Macbeth’s, was a kind of cradle song, here given a sinister ‘lounge’ quality. It recurs throughout the film, propelling the action: grim and inexorable.
